Political Party Conferences 2005

2005 is a rare opportunity for the Kashmir issue to take its place on the frontlines of rivalling political parties’ foreign agendas, seeing as the UK General Election was held in May and the three main political party conferences will be held in the autumn. The Justice Foundation has been blessed with the enduring support of several leaders in the UK Government and looks forward to extending this type of relationship with additional political and community leaders through its participation in all three Party Conferences. With the re-election of Labour as the majority party for the next four years, the Justice Foundation already has the pledged support of the Government towards a peaceful settlement to the Kashmir dispute through the party’s 2005 manifesto, which reads:

“We will continue to strongly support the peace process between India and Pakistan, and back moves to resolve the long-running dispute over Kashmir.”
